Hawaii Island Hardwoods is a limited liability company that is committed to producing high quality lumber products from sustainable and renewable timber lands in Hawaii. The company focuses on locally grown species that can be delivered to the markets efficiently, consistently and reliably and with superior quality and characteristics. The principal owner member managers of the LLC are all residents of the state of Hawaii and each has extensive experience in the management and direction of successful wood related enterprises.

The company currently has in inventory Eucalyptus Saligna, Eucalyptus Robusta, Australian Red Cedar (Toona Ciliata) and Nepal Alder. We currently have about 400,000 board feet of E. Robusta timber under contract. HIH will have over 30,000,000 board feet of quality hardwood timber under contract in the near future. This will include the species listed above plus Koa, Queensland Maple and Tropical Ash.

The company is currently designing a state-of-the-arts sawmill, lumber drying and finishing facility. The new mill will be developed in two phases. The first phase will consist of a state-of-the- arts vertical band mill “head-rig” with computerized set works and laser beam guidance. This machine will also have a relatively thin saw thickness (kerf) that will help on product yields.
